Say Cheese!

This month we held our highly anticipated Cheese and Wine Supper Club at our magical Market Kitchen. With a carefully selected menu of nine kinds of cheese with wine pairings, it was safe to say everyone left feeling very merry and dreaming of cheese! 

Our friend and wine supplier Jez hosted the evening along with our Market Kitchen manager Benoit, who led our guests through what to expect from the evening and provided lots of interesting facts about the cheese and wine. 

The evening began with a cheeseboard full of five different kinds of cheese, chutney, freshly baked bread and frozen grapes. The first two pieces of cheese were paired with both a sweet and crisp white wine. The third cheese was paired with a rosé, and the last two were served along with rich reds. 




After a twenty-minute break to prepare the next course and answer any questions, the team then brought out a very exciting cheeseboard, including a scooping Gorgonzola, and some rich Roquefort blue cheese! The next four wines were a constant flow of prosecco, vintage champagne, tawny port and a delicious dessert wine. With so much cheese and wine, everyone left feeling slightly wobbly and very full. Jez and Benoit really made the night a huge success, explaining the origins of each of the tastings with humour and insight. With a large number of return customers, it's easy to see why our customers love the supper clubs. With a relaxed and comforting ambience along with confident and personable staff, our supper clubs are always such a special evening out to enjoy quality time with friends and family!
