This month Lily has been making beautiful summer sun catchers to decorate the Flowerpots Garden. Follow her simple tips below to add a splash of colour to your gardens, windows, or balconies at home.
What you will need:
- Contact paper
- Scissors
- Marker or Pen
- Rings from Mason jar lids
- Flowers and leaves from the garden
- String
- A stick
- Liquid glue
Directions:
- Cut out a sheet of contact paper, trace the mason jar lids onto the paper sticky side down,
- Get outside and scavenge for your desired flowers or leaves for your sun catcher,
- Once you have found your selection of flowers, turn the paper to sticky side up, and decorate the circles drawn out
- Now you have designed your sun catcher, place another piece of contact paper over the top sticky side down, press down on each circle to seal the flowers and leaves in,
- Once they are flattened cut around the circles traced in step 1,
- Tie a sting around the lid for hanging them, put two small dots of glue on opposite sides on the inside of the lid and place the circles in.
- Hooray! You’ve created a DIY Sun Catcher, by recycling mason jar lids
