• Application: Ideal for beds and borders. Good cut flowers.

• Position: While they are commonly grown in full sun, many types can also take a little shade. In addition, these plants effectively handle drought and are fairly tolerant of cold as well.
• Soil requirement: Tolerant of a wide range of soils provided drainage is satisfactory.
• Cultivation: Liatris attract butterflies. They're relatively pest resistant. Liatris may be left in the soil but they can also be lifted after the foliage fades, cleaned, stored and replanted at the appropriate time again. Water well after planting.

The Frost family has been a significant force in the garden centre industry for more than half a century.

Established in 1946, the Frosts name has become synonymous with quality and style in gardening. The original garden shop and plant department opened in 1962. Harvey Frost, with the help of his sons Brian and Adrian, opened Frosts at Woburn Sands. This was one of the first garden centres in the UK and quickly became established as a leader in its field. Today, the business is still family owned and run by brothers, Jeremy and James Frost.
